Band: Atomic Opera

Atomic Opera is one of the bands that came out around the early 90's that had Sam Taylor (producer, manager for king's X, Galactic Cowboys) at the helm. THe first album is definalty their heaviest, combining thrash metal overtones wiht beautiful beatlesque vocal harmonies. After the Debut of "For Madmen Only" the band went through some line-up changes,parted ways with giant records and released two albums indipendantly. They also toned down on the agressive metal guitars in trade for a more lush, laid back tone. Atomic Opera then released "Gospel Cola" through Metal Blade Records, bringing to the table a fresh new sound of psycadelic christian rock, with progressive rock/metal overtones. one thing that was NOT missing was their vocal harmonies which is one thing that makes this band so facinating to listen to. Fans of King's X and Galactic Cowboys will love this band if they don't already know about them!
